Ingredients
  • 1/2 ts Baking powder
  • 1/2 c Milk or cream, sour
  • 2 3/4 c Flour, sifted
  • 1/2 ts Baking soda
  • 3/4 c Sugar; brown
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 3/4 c Shortening;margarine or but
  • 1/2 ts Vanilla
  • 1 ts Cinnamon
  • 1 Egg,well beaten
  • 1/2 c Mincemeat

Directions
  • Step #1 Cream together shortening, sugar & vanilla.
  • Step #2 Beat until fluffy.
  • Step #3 Add the well beaten egg.
  • Step #4 Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with the sour milk/cream.
  • Step #5 Chill batter & divide.
  • Step #6 Cut on lightly floured board with a 2 inch cutter.
  • Step #7 Put together in pairs, moisten the undercrust with egg & use 1 1/2 tsp.
  • Step #8 of mincemeat as filling on each cookie.
  • Step #9 Pinch edges together & put on a greased cookie sheet & bake in hot oven 425F degrees for10-12 mins.
