  • Step #1 1 lb broccoli spears 2 TB olive oil 1 TB red wine vinegar 1 lg clove garlic-peeled & minced 1 ts Worcestershire sauce 1/4 c crumbled blue cheese : Salt & pepper 1/4 c Spice uped croutons -- or : more This recipe uses a black & decker steamer.
  • Step #2 Adapt to your steamer.
  • Step #3 A tangy, flavorful taste is created as blue cheese melts on hot broccoli & the two are tossed together with the vinaigrette sauce.
  • Step #4 Fill the base with water to "Lo" fill line.
  • Step #5 Position Drip Tray.
  • Step #6 Trim broccoli to 4" lengths from top of head to steam.
  • Step #7 Stems should be no larger than 1/4" - 3/8" in diameter.
  • Step #8 Layer loosely in Steaming Bowl.
  • Step #9 Position Cover & steam for 16-19 mins or to desired tenderness.
  • Step #10 While broccoli is steaming, prepare vinaigrette sauce combining oil, vinegar, garlic & Worcestershire sauce; whisk together to mix ingredients.
  • Step #11 Transfer steamed broccoli to salad bowl; pour the sauce over top.
  • Step #12 Add blue cheese, then salt & pepper to taste; toss.
  • Step #13 Sprinkle top with croutons just before serving.
