Step #2 stir this together flour, brown sugar, baking powder & salt.
Step #3 Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step #4 Add the nuts.
Step #5 mix the egg & milk.
Step #6 stir in theto the flour mixture just til moistened.
Step #7 On a lightly floured surface, pat dough into a 10 x 7" rectangle.
Step #8 Cut crosswise into 1" wide strips.
Step #9 Twist each strip by holding both ends.
Step #10 Bend 1 end to form candy cane shape.
Step #11 Place candy canes several inches apart on cookie sheet.
Step #12 Bake in a 425F oven for 10 mins or til light brown.
Step #13 Carefully remove to a wire rack to cool.
Step #14 Frost with decorator icing or with powdered sugar icing.
Step #15 Makes 10 candy canes.
Step #16 Powdered Sugar Icing In a small bowl mix 2 c powdered sugar & enough milk to make of drizzling consistency (about 3 tb) Drizzle over cooled candy canes.
