Country White Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 c warm water (110 degrees to 115 degrees)
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 (.25 oz) packages active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water.
  • Step #2 Add sugar, eggs, salt, oil & 3 c of flour; beat until smooth.
  • Step #3 Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  • Step #4 Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth & elastic, about 6 to 8 mins.
  • Step #5 Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
  • Step #6 Cover & let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hr.
  • Step #7 Punch dough down.
  • Step #8 Divide in half & shape into loaves.
  • Step #9 Place in two greased 9-in.
  • Step #10 x 5-in.
  • Step #11 x 3-in loaf pans.
  • Step #12 Cover & let rise until doubled, about 1 hr.
  • Step #13 Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 to 30 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #14 Remove from pans to cool on wire racks.
