Caramel Flan Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 German Chocolate cake mix
  • 2/3 c Evaporated milk, divided
  • 1 c Walnuts, sliced
  • 3/4 c Margarine, melted
  • 1 c Chocolate chips
  • 14 oz Bag caramels

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt caramels & 1/3 c evaporated milk over hot water or in microwave, stirring every thirty seconds.
  • Step #2 Keep warm.
  • Step #3 Mix the cake mix, margarine & 1/3 c evaporated milk & beat well.
  • Step #4 Spread 1/2 the batter in a greased 9x13 inch pan.
  • Step #5 Bake for 6 mins at 350 degrees.
  • Step #6 Cool about 2 mins.
  • Step #7 Spread caramel mixture over baked layer & Sprinkle top with chocolate chips.
  • Step #8 Stir 1/2 c nuts into remaining 1/2 of batter & drop by half tspsful over top.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with remaining 1/2 c nuts.
  • Step #10 Return to oven & bake for 18 mins at 350 degrees.
  • Step #11 Cool in pan & cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
