Orange Caramel Flan Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Sour cream
  • 1 1/2 c Nuts; finely sliced
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 c Plus 2 tbs sugar; divided
  • 3 tb Flour; all purpose
  • 1 ts Orange peel; grated
  • 1/4 ts Cinnamon
  • 32 oz Cream cheese; melted
  • Cinnamon sugar, whipped cream & orange zest for garnish
  • 3 tb Butter; melted
  • 1/4 c Orange juice
  • 1 tb Instant coffee powder

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 325~.
  • Step #2 mix nuts, 2 tbsps sugar & butter in medium bowl; mix well.
  • Step #3 Press onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan.
  • Step #4 Bake 10 mins.
  • Step #5 remove this from oven.
  • Step #6 Increase oven temperature to 450~.
  • Step #7 Beat together cream cheese, remaining 1 c sugar & flour in large bowl until well mixed.
  • Step #8 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step #9 mix in sour cream.
  • Step #10 Add coffee powder and cinnamon to orange juice; stir until coffee is dissolved.
  • Step #11 slowly add juice mixture with orange peel to cream cheese mixture, mixing until well mixed.
  • Step #12 Pour over crust.
  • Step #13 Bake 10 mins.
  • Step #14 Reduce oven temperature to 250~.
  • Step #15 Continue baking cheesecake 1 hr.
  • Step #16 Loosen cake from rim of pan; cool 10 mins.
  • Step #17 Sprinkle top with cinnamon sugar.
  • Step #18 Lightly score top of cheesecake with sharp knife.
  • Step #19 Cool completely before removing rim of pan.
  • Step #20 Spoon desired amount of whipped cream into pastry tube; pipe around edge of cheesecake.
  • Step #21 Sprinkle top with orange zest, if desired.
