Step #1 mix all COOKIE DOUGH ingredients together until you can shape the dough into a smooth ball.
Step #2 Let it stand 20 mins, loosely covered.
Step #3 Form dough into marble-sized balls.
Step #4 Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Step #5 Flatten each with smooth bottom of a drinking glass greased once & dipped into Nestles' Quick Powder.
Step #6 (Or use sweetened chocolate drink powder).
Step #7 bake this at 400F degrees for 8 mins.
Step #8 Remove cookies at once from baking sheet, to paper toweling & at once, flatten each cookie with back of pancake turner.
Step #9 Let cool 20 mins.
Step #10 Fill with COOKIE FILLING mixture.
Step #11 (Cookie Filling) Soften gelatin in cold water.
Step #12 place this in heatproof c in pan of hot water till gelatin is transparent.
Step #13 Meanwhile beat Crisco till fluffy, adding vanilla & sugar a little at a time.
Step #14 Beat in Gelatin mixture when it is completely cooled, but not yet "set" or firm.
Step #15 This is used to give the filling stability - as well as protein! When cooled, shape filling into 1 inch balls.
Step #16 Place between the two bottom sides of the cooled cookies, pressing carefully till filling has spread to edge of cookies & rounded-out like the originals.
Step #17 This is suppose to be a great imitation version of the original Nabisco Oreos.
