Champagne Cake #1 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 ts Baking soda
  • 1 ts Almond extract
  • 1 ts Almond flavoring
  • 1 c Confectioners' sugar
  • 3 c Sugar
  • 2 To 3 tbsps champagne
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 6 lg Eggs
  • 3 c Flour
  • GLAZE
  • 1 tb Almonds; finely sliced
  • 1/2 lb Butter
  • 1 ts Vanilla extract
  • 1 c Sour cream
  • 1 ts Vanilla extract
  • 1 ts Baking powder

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 300F degrees.
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 10 inch bundt pan.
  • Step #3 Sprinkle top almonds on bottom & set aside.
  • Step #4 Cream the butter until it is light & fluffy.
  • Step #5 Add the sugar one c at a time, beating well until the mix is smooth.
  • Step #6 mix in the vanilla & almond flavoring & the sour cream.
  • Step #7 Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step #8 Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, & powder and add flour mix to the cake batter mixing just enough to incorporate it.
  • Step #9 Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Step #10 Set in middle of oven.
  • Step #11 Bake for 1-1/2 hrs or until cake tests done.
  • Step #12 remove this from oven.
  • Step #13 Loosen edges from side of pan with spatula; set on cake rack.
  • Step #14 Let cool 5 mins & remove this from pan.
  • Step #15 Approximately 10 servings.
