Cherry Vanilla Ribbon Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Candied cherries; quartered
  • 3 c Sugar
  • 1 c Light cream
  • 2 tb Butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c Light corn syrup
  • 2 ts Vanilla
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/2 c Milk

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 mix sugar, salt, mil, cream, corn syrup & butter in a large heavy saucepan.
  • Step #3 2.
  • Step #4 Cook over med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to boiling.
  • Step #5 Continue cooking, stirring every once in awhile, until candy thermometer reaches 238F.
  • Step #6 (soft-ball stage) 3.
  • Step #7 remove this from heat, leaving thermometer in the saucepan.
  • Step #8 Cool to 100F.
  • Step #9 4.
  • Step #10 Add vanilla.
  • Step #11 Beat briskly until fudge thickens & begins to lose its gloss.
  • Step #12 stir in the cherries.
  • Step #13 5.
  • Step #14 pour this into buttered 8" square pan.
  • Step #15 Cool.
  • Step #16 Cut into squares when firm.
