Pasta With Alfredo-pesto Sauce - Bon Appetit Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 c Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 c Whipping cream
  • 1 lb Capellini or spaghetti, freshly cooked
  • 1 c Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/3 c Pine nuts or walnuts
  • 1/3 c Olive oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Finely chop basil, pine nuts & garlic in processor.
  • Step #2 With machine running, slowly add olive oil through feed tube & process until smooth.
  • Step #3 Mix in 1/2 c parmesan.
  • Step #4 Transfer pest to small jar.
  • Step #5 (Can be prepared 4 days ahead.
  • Step #6 Pour enough olive oil over sauce to cover.
  • Step #7 Cover & put in the fridge.
  • Step #8 ) Bring cream to boil in heavy medium saucepan.
  • Step #9 Whisk in pesto.
  • Step #10 Spice up sauce to taste with salt & pepper.
  • Step #11 mix pasta, sauce and remaining 1/2 c parmesan in large bowl.
  • Step #12 Toss to coat pasta evenly & serve.
