Dark Chocolate Cream Cheese Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c hot water
  • 1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsps white vinegar
  • 2/3 c vegetable oil
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsps baking soda
  • 3 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee powder
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 2 c white sugar
  •  
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl, sugar, stir this together the flour, cocoa, baking soda & salt.
  • Step #4 mix the hot water & instant coffee, then add to the dry ingredients along with the oil, vinegar, vanilla & eggs.
  • Step #5 Mix until smooth & well mixed.
  • Step #6 Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Step #7 sprinkle with the 1/4 c of sugar.
  • Step #8 Bake for 45 to 60 mins in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Step #9 Make the topping while the cake is cooling.
  • Step #10 In a medium-size mixing bowl, sugar, beat together the cream cheese, vanilla & egg until smooth.
  • Step #11 Stir in the chocolate chips & walnuts.
  • Step #12 Spread over cooled cake.
