Step #1 Many a good barbeque sauce is based on fruit nowadays.
Step #2 Since in fact, botanically speaking, a tomato is a fruit, I suppose one could argue that fruit is the most common constituent of any barbeque sauce.
Step #3 Still, one based on peaches might seem to be asking a lot of taste buds primed to mediate the hot, spicy flavors of a grill.

Step #5 Melt the butter in a small stainless steel or flameproof ceramic saucepan set over low heat/flame.
Step #6 Add the onion, & saute until golden.

Step #9 Cut the slices in half and add them to the saucepan.

Step #11 Simmer, stirring carefully every once in awhile for 20 mins, or until the sauce thickens nicely.
Step #12 Chill before serving.
Step #13 This entire sauce may be mixerized to give it a smooth consistency.
