Peaches 'n Cream Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Ground cloves
  • 1/2 c Bailey's Irish Cream
  • 2 tb Dark brown sugar
  • 1 ts Ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 ea Small onion, grated
  • 1 ea 16 oz can sliced peaches in heavy syrup
  • 1/2 c sliced bread & butter pickles
  • 2 tb Butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Many a good barbeque sauce is based on fruit nowadays.
  • Step #2 Since in fact, botanically speaking, a tomato is a fruit, I suppose one could argue that fruit is the most common constituent of any barbeque sauce.
  • Step #3 Still, one based on peaches might seem to be asking a lot of taste buds primed to mediate the hot, spicy flavors of a grill.
  • Step #4 In actuality, it provides a soothing contrast to them.
  • Step #5 Melt the butter in a small stainless steel or flameproof ceramic saucepan set over low heat/flame.
  • Step #6 Add the onion, & saute until golden.
  • Step #7 stir in the the brown sugar, cloves, & cayenne pepper, mixing well.
  • Step #8 Drain the peaches, reserving the syrup.
  • Step #9 Cut the slices in half and add them to the saucepan.
  • Step #10 Lightly mix in first the Bailey's Irish Cream then the pickles.
  • Step #11 Simmer, stirring carefully every once in awhile for 20 mins, or until the sauce thickens nicely.
  • Step #12 Chill before serving.
  • Step #13 This entire sauce may be mixerized to give it a smooth consistency.
