Step #1 In top of double boiler, mix butter & peanut butter & melt.
Step #2 Sift together sugar & dry powdered milk; set aside.
Step #3 Add corn syrup, water, & vanilla to the peanut butter mixture.
Step #4 stir in the about half the dry ingredients, mix well, then add the remaining dry ingredients.
Step #5 mix until very smooth.
Step #6 stir in the sliced peanuts.
Step #7 Turn inbto a buttered 8" square pan.
Step #8 Cut into squares.
