Step #1 --FILLING----- 2 tb Custard powder; Bird's is -the most common brand 1/4 c Milk 2 tb Butter; softened 1/2 c Peanut butter,icing; or confectioner -sifted---ICING------ 5 oz Chocolate, smooth 2 c Sugar, semisweet -sliced 1 tb Butter An interesting variation of the traditional Nanaimo Bar.
Step #2 BASE: Melt chocolate & butter in microwave on high power 2 mins.
Step #3 Mix in sugar, vanilla & egg.
Step #4 Add crumbs, coconut & nuts.
Step #5 Press into 9 inch square pan.
Step #6 Chill.
Step #7 FILLING: Using elctric mixer, beat together all ingredients.
Step #8 Spread over base; chill.
Step #9 ICING: Melt chocolate with butter in saucepan on Medium power 3 to 4 mins.
Step #10 spread over filling.
