Chocolate Chip Meringue Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3 tbsps miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 3 tbsps finely crushed almonds
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 tbsps baking cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Place egg whites in a large mixing bowl; let this stand at about room temp for 30 mins.
  • Step #2 Beat egg whites until foamy.
  • Step #3 Add cream of tartar & salt; beat until soft peaks form.
  • Step #4 Gradually add sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, beating on high until stiff peaks form, about 6 mins.
  • Step #5 Beat in cocoa.
  • Step #6 Fold in chocolate chips & nuts if desired.
