Classic Stuffed Peppers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c uncooked instant rice
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp finely sliced onion
  • 2 medium green bell peppers
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 lb uncooked lean ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash pepper
  • 1 c meatless spaghetti sauce, divided

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut tops off peppers & discard; remove seeds.
  • Step #2 In a large saucepan, cook peppers in boiling water for 5 mins.
  • Step #3 Drain & rinse in cold water.
  • Step #4 In a bowl, salt, rice, onion, mix the egg, 1/4 c of the spaghetti sauce, Worcestershire sauce & pepper.
  • Step #5 Crumble beef over the mixture & mix well.
  • Step #6 Stuff into peppers.
  • Step #7 Place in an ungreased 1-1/2-qt.
  • Step #8 baking dish.
  • Step #9 Pour the remaining sauce over peppers.
  • Step #10 Cover & bake this at 350 degrees F for 50-55 mins or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees F.
