Chili Con Carnei Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps dried oregano
  • 5 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 1/2 tbsps ground cumin
  • 2 tbsps paprika
  • 5 tbsps vegetable oil
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 1/2 tsps salt
  • 3 (14.5 oz) cans whole peeled tomatoes with liquid, sliced
  • 2 (15.25 oz) cans red kidney beans, rinsed & drained
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 chile pepper, sliced
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium sized stock pot, heat the oil over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Saute onion, chile pepper & garlic until soft.
  • Step #3 Add ground beef: cook & stir until meat is browned.
  • Step #4 Pour in tomatoes with liquid, cinnamon sticks, paprika, pepper, cumin, chili powder, salt, oregano, & cloves.
  • Step #5 Cover & let simmer for 45 mins.
  • Step #6 Stir in kidney beans, & cook another 15 mins.
  • Step #7 Remove cinnamon sticks before serving.
