Christmas Cinnamon Pears Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (2.25 oz) package cinnamon red hot candies
  • 1/4 tsp red food coloring
  • 3 (16 oz) cans pear halves in juice
  • 6 leaves butterhead lettuce

Directions
  • Step #1 Drain the liquid from the cans of pears into a saucepan.
  • Step #2 Add red hot candies to the juice.
  • Step #3 Cook over med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, until the candy has dissolved.
  • Step #4 Stir in the food coloring, remove this from heat, & allow this to cool.
  • Step #5 Place the pear halves in a deep bowl.
  • Step #6 Pour the liquid over the pears, cover, & put in the fridge overnight.
  • Step #7 You may want to stir a couple of times to evenly distribute the color.
  • Step #8 Serve pear halves cold on top of a leaf of lettuce.
