Chocolate Almond Marble Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1/2 c finely sliced almonds
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 3 (1 oz) squares bittersweet chocolate

  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 (16 oz) container sour cream, room temperature
  • 1/2 c butter, melted
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 3 eggs

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 In a medium bowl, mix cookie crumbs, almonds, 1/4 c sugar & melted butter.
  • Step #3 Mix well.
  • Step #4 Press into the bottom & halfway up the sides of a 10 inch springform pan.
  • Step #5 In the top of a double boiler, stirring every once in awhile, heat chocolate, until chocolate is melted & smooth.
  • Step #6 Remove from heat & allow this to cool to lukewarm.
  • Step #7 In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese & 1 c sugar until smooth.
  • Step #8 Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Step #9 Fold in the almond extract & sour cream.
  • Step #10 Pour 1 1/2 c of the filling into a smaller bowl.
  • Step #11 Stir the melted chocolate into the smaller bowl, then fold loosely back into plain filling.
  • Step #12 Pour into crust.
  • Step #13 With the tip of a knife, swirl the filling to create a marbled effect.
  • Step #14 Bake in the preheated oven for 40 mins.
  • Step #15 Turn off oven & let cake cool in oven for 1 hr, with the door closed.
  • Step #16 Cool at about room temp, then put in the fridge overnight.
