- 1 c semisweet chocolate chips
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c maraschino cherries, sliced
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 c white sugar
- 1 c sliced walnuts
- 1 1/4 c all-purpose flour
- 1 c sliced dates
- 1 1/2 tsps baking powder
Directions
- Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- Step #2 Stir flour, baking powder & salt together.
- Step #3 Beat eggs until light; add sugar slowly, beating well after each addition.
- Step #4 Stir in almond flavoring, then dry ingredients.
- Step #5 Fold in chocolate pieces, fruits, & nuts.
- Step #6 Spread dough evenly in greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
- Step #7 Bake 30 to 35 mins.
- Step #8 If desired, when cooled, frost with powdered sugar icing.
- Step #9 Cut into bars & garnish each bar with a chocolate piece.
