Cheesy Sausage Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c water (70 degrees to 80 degrees)
  • 1 1/4 tsps salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage, cooked & drained
  • 4 tsps butter, softened
  • 3/4 c shredded provolone cheese
  • 3 c bread flour
  • 2 1/4 tsps active dry yeast
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions
  • Step #1 In bread machine pan, place the first six ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.
  • Step #2 Select dough setting (check dough after 5 mins of mixing; add 1 to 2 tbsps of water or flour if needed).
  • Step #3 When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Step #4 Roll into a 16-in.
  • Step #5 x 10-in.
  • Step #6 rectangle.
  • Step #7 Cover with plastic wrap; let rest 10 mins.
  • Step #8 Meanwhile, mix the sausage, cheeses, garlic powder & pepper.
  • Step #9 Spread evenly over dough to within 1/2 in.
  • Step #10 of edges.
  • Step #11 Roll up jelly-roll style; starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal & tuck ends under.
  • Step #12 Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet.
  • Step #13 Cover & let rise in a warm place for 30 mins.
  • Step #14 Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 mins.
  • Step #15 Brush with egg; bake 15-20 mins longer or until lightly browned.
  • Step #16 Remove to a wire rack.
  • Step #17 Serve warm.
