Cream Cheese Bells Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • FILLING:
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 1/2 c ground pecans
  • 1/4 c butter (no substitutes), melted
  • 1 egg white
  • confectioners' sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 7 tbsps butter (no substitutes), softened

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, cream butter & cream cheese.
  • Step #2 Beat in egg yolks.
  • Step #3 Gradually add the flour.
  • Step #4 Cover & put in the fridge overnight.
  • Step #5 Remove from refrigerator about 1 hr before rolling.
  • Step #6 For filling, sugar, mix the nuts, butter & egg white; set aside.
  • Step #7 Divide dough into fourths.
  • Step #8 On a floured surface, roll out each portion to 1/8-in.
  • Step #9 thickness.
  • Step #10 Cut with a 2-3/4-in.
  • Step #11 round cookie cutter.
  • Step #12 Place 1 in.
  • Step #13 apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Step #14 Place 1 tsp filling in center of each circle.
  • Step #15 Shape into a cone by folding edges of dough to meet over filling.
  • Step #16 Moisten edges with water & pinch edges together.
  • Step #17 Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-15 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #18 Cool on wire racks.
  • Step #19 Sprinkle top cooled cookies with confectioners' sugar.
