Coconut Macaroon Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts
  • 3/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 4 c unsweetened flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 c white sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 c all-purpose flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl, cream together the butter & sugar.
  • Step #4 Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the 1 1/2 tsps vanilla.
  • Step #5 Combine the flour, cream of tartar & cocoa; stir in theto the egg mixture until well mixed.
  • Step #6 Fold in walnuts.
  • Step #7 Spread half of this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Step #8 Make the middle layer.
  • Step #9 In a medium bowl, stir this together the coconut, sweetened condensed milk & 1 tbsp vanilla.
  • Step #10 Carefully layer this over the chocolate layer in the pan.
  • Step #11 Top with the remaining chocolate batter.
  • Step #12 Spread to cover evenly.
  • Step #13 Bake for 45 to 50 mins in the preheated oven, until top is no longer shiny.
  • Step #14 Cool in the pan before cutting into bars.
