Chocolate Rum Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/4 c water
  • 1/4 c white rum
  • 1/2 c sliced nuts
  • 1 (18.25 oz) package chocolate cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1/2 c white rum
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1 c white sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 325F degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease one 10 inch bundt pan.
  • Step #3 Place sliced nuts in the bottom of the bundt pan.
  • Step #4 With an electric mixer beat cake mix, eggs, oil, pudding mix, 1/2 c of the water, & 1/2 c of the rum on high speed for 2 mins.
  • Step #5 Pour batter over into prepared pan over the top of the sliced nuts.
  • Step #6 Bake at 325F degrees F (165 degrees C) for 50 to 60 mins.
  • Step #7 Pour rum glaze over cake as soon as you remove it from the oven.
  • Step #8 Let cake stand for 30 mins then turn out onto a serving dish.
  • Step #9 To Make Rum Glaze: In a saucepan mix the butter or margarine, sugar, 1/4 c of the rum, & 1/4 c of the water.
  • Step #10 Bring mixture to a boil & cook for 2 mins.
  • Step #11 Pour as soon as possible over still warm cake.
