Chocolate Snaps Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsps margarine
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 c butter, softened
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1 c white sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Sift together the flour, baking soda & salt; set aside.
  • Step #2 In a medium saucepan over med-heat/flame, melt margarine.
  • Step #3 Stir in cocoa, remove this from heat & set aside to cool.
  • Step #4 In a large bowl, cream together the butter, 1 c white sugar & brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Step #5 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the the cocoa mixture & the vanilla.
  • Step #6 Blend in the sifted ingredients to form a soft dough.
  • Step #7 Cover dough & put in the fridge for at least an hr or two.
  • Step #8 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #9 Roll chilled dough into 1 inch balls, roll them in the remaining sugar & place them 2 to 3 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Step #10 Bake for 8 to 10 mins in the preheated oven.
  • Step #11 Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 mins before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
