Chocolate Caramel Nut Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsps heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tbsps all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c butter, sliced
  • 1/3 c white sugar
  • 4 (2.16 oz) bars chocolate-coated caramel-peanut nougat candy, sliced
  • 6 tbsps butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 oz milk chocolate, sliced
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 (1 oz) square unsweetened chocolate, sliced
  • 10 oz cream cheese, softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 To Make Crust: In a medium mixing bowl mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, & melted butter.
  • Step #3 Mix all together & press mixture firmly into a 9 inch pie pan.
  • Step #4 To Make Fudge Layer: In a medium mixing bowl mix flour, baking powder, & salt.
  • Step #5 Mix well.
  • Step #6 In a double boiler melt semisweet chocolate & unsweetened chocolate together with 1/2 c butter or margarine, stirring until smooth.
  • Step #7 Cool slightly.
  • Step #8 Meanwhile beat sugar, whole egg, & egg white in a medium bowl until slightly thickened.
  • Step #9 To this mixture add vanilla & cooled chocolate.
  • Step #10 Mix until well mixed.
  • Step #11 Stir in dry ingredient mixture & mix until just mixd.
  • Step #12 Pour mixture into crust & bake in preheated oven for about 17 mins, or until just set.
  • Step #13 Cool on a rack for 10 mins.
  • Step #14 Place candy bar slices on this layer.
  • Step #15 To Make Cream Cheese Layer: In a medium mixing bowl beat cream cheese & sugar until mixed.
  • Step #16 Add egg & vanilla extract & beat until smooth.
  • Step #17 Spread mixture over candy bars & bake for 15 mins, or until set.
  • Step #18 Cool on rack.
  • Step #19 To Make Garnish: In a small saucepan stir milk chocolate & whipping cream over low heat/flame until smooth.
  • Step #20 Drizzle over pie.
  • Step #21 Refrigerate & serve chilled.
