Marinara Cream Shrimp Toast Recipe

Ingredients
  • Butter
  • 1 T. onion (brunoise)
  • 1 T. mushrooms (brunoise)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 T. raw shrimp (brunoise)
  • 1 T. white wine
  • 1/3 c. heavy cream or Crème fraîche
  • 2 T. marinara sauce (recipe seperate on this page)
  • French Bread
  • Melting cheese

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add butter for sauteeing to a saute pan
  3. Add the onion and sautee until some get a little color (about a couple minutes)
  4. Add the mushrooms and the garlic
  5. Saute for another minute
  6. Add the raw shrimp (saute another minute)
  7. Add the white wine to deglaze the pan a little, until it is reduced to nothing.
  8. Add the cream and marinara, stir to mix together.
  9. Reduce by half and take off stove.
  10. Top French bread slices with marinara cream shrimp sauce.
  11. Top with a good melting cheese that isn't overpowering in flavor (i used a mozzerela provolone mixture but gruyere would work very well)
  12. Place the marinara cream shrimp toasts on a cookie sheet or similar tray and throw in oven until cheese is melting.
  13. Enjoy, yo!
