How to make it

  • preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease an 8X8" pan
  • in a medium bowl combine, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  • in a large bowl whisk egg and egg whites. Then whisk in sucanat, prunes and vanilla extract. I like to let this sit for a few minutes when using sucanat. Whisk again until smooth.
  • fold dry ingredients into wet and stir in chocolate chips.
  • bake for 20-25 mins, 5 mins more if you like them cakier as opposed to gooey.
  • cool in pan and cut into 12 squares.
  • I like to serve these with vanilla frozen yogurt and berries.
  • they can also be baked in mini muffin pans for about 15-20 mins. Just like the store bought 2 bite brownies only much healthier.

This sounds like a very moist brownie, and the addition of the baby food prunes,a great way to get this beneficial food within someone who would not like them served in another matter.

    Thank-you for very nice recipe.

    Kind Regards

    Joyce

Can not wait to give it a go. By the way, I once made my Grandmother some Fool Your Family Brownies of a different kind back in the 70s. Ends up, I was the fool. But she sang songs for quite some time.

    Thank you for sharing.
