Ingredients

How to make it

  • chop up chillis, garlic and prepare ginger
  • pull the leaves of the cilantro
  • Cut fish into bite sized pieces
  • slice tomatoes in half
  • heat sesame oil in a wok, to boiling, do not burn
  • add chillis and stir around till colour moves into the oil
  • add garlic and ginger
  • immediately add fish and cook through
  • add a couple of splashes of sake or mirin rice wine
  • place a couple of handfulls of lettuce in 2 bowls, mix in a quarter of the cilantro into each bowl
  • add 1/2 of cilantro to the wok with the tomatoes, stir while cooking for 1 minute
  • spoon fish and tomatoes onto the lettuce
  • eat immediately, tomatoes should be warm but still firm
  • best will a chilled japanese beer or a french of nz sauv blanc
  • Can also add mint or basil and slices of chillis as a garnish

    I would recommend using a little sea salt on the fish just for added flavor. Delicious nonetheless!
