South Of The Border Burgers Recipe
SOUTH OF THE BORDER BURGERS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Teak Estate in Montgomery, Texas in 1990.

Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 pounds ground chuck
  • 2 canned chipotle chilies in adobo sauce chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup canned green chilies
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon hot chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands.
  2. Form gently into 6 patties and grill over hot coals turning once halfway through cooking.
  3. Serve on toasted buns with your favorite condiments.
