Tuna Steaks With Peppercorns Recipe
TUNA STEAKS WITH PEPPERCORNS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Teak Estate in Montgomery, Texas in 1990.

Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon Szechuan peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon white peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon allspice berries
  • 4 tuna steaks
  • 1 tablespoon corn oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Crush peppercorns with a meat pounder or the bottom of a saucepan.
  2. Brush both sides of tuna steaks with oil then sprinkle both sides with salt and crushed pepper.
  3. Heat a cast iron pan for 3 minutes until very hot.
  4. Place steaks in pan and cook them over very high heat for 2 minutes per side.
  5. Cover pan then remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
