Ackee Saltfish

- 1 Can of ackee, drained shopping list
- 1/2 lb boneless salt cod shopping list
- 2 onions sliced shopping list
- garlic ( not traditional but i like it ) shopping list
- 1/2 teas spoon of dry thyme or a few sprigs of fresh shopping list
- 1/4 scotch bonnet pepper skin finely chopped up shopping list
- 1 tomato, chopped shopping list
- 1 green pepper shopping list
- 1 red pepper shopping list
- All purpose seasoning (optional) shopping list
- oil to cook shopping list
How to make it
- You will need to soak the saltfish over night to get all the salt out.
- Boil saltfish for about 15 mins until nice and soft
- Then fry your onion & garlic for about 5 mins
- Add peppers, thyme, and seasoning, fry for about 10 mins
- Now add the salt fish and fry for about 10 mins
- Add your ackee and carfuly fold through until cooked.
- * The ackie is very delicate, try and be gentle!
- Its a good i idea to boil the ackee for about 5 mins before.
