Butterscotch Blondies Recipe
The cousin to the brownie, blondies rely on brown sugar to give them a distinctive molasses flavor instead of chocolate.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup butterscotch chips

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease an 8 inch square baking dish.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar.
  5. Mix in egg and vanilla.
  6. Add to flour mixture and stir until just incorporated.
  7. Add butterscotch chips to batter.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan.
  9. Bake until they are just set in the center, about 20-25 minutes.
