Ingredients
  • 3/4 lb. meat
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cracked wheat
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tablespoons corn oil
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 5 cups water

Directions
  1. Peel and finely chop the onions. Heat the oil in a sauce pan. Lightly fry the onions. Add the meat and fry on all sides. Cover the meat with water and cook until almost tender.
  2. Pur'e the tomatoes and season with salt, pepper and cinnamon sticks. Add the cracked wheat to the soup.
  3. Cover the pot and simmer, checking the water level occasionally.
  4. Pour soup into tureen. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top.
  5. Serve hot

Hi Lohashim, What kind of meat would you normally use in this recipe? It too sounds really good to me. Will try this one as well :-)


Can be lamb or beef,both are great but lamb is richer in taste.


This sound lovely. Often I long for a break from the mainstay of North American fare. I'll be trying this soon. Thanks for posting!
