How to make it

  • Cherry Chocolate Cookies:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cocoa powder, flour and baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Fold in the chocolate chunks and dried cherries.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
  • Marshmallow Frosting:
  • In a small bowl, beat together butter, marshmallow creme and vanilla. Gradually add in sugar and beat until well blended. Stir in milk. If frosting is too thick, add more milk a tablespoon at a time.
  • Using a spoon, lightly drizzle frosting over cookies
