How to make it

  • Clean seeds and stems from dried chillies and soak in 2 cups of water in a glass bowl.
  • In a small sauce pan bring 1 cup of water to a boil and add carrots and boil for 10 minutes then drain.
  • Add 2 TBS olive oil to a fry pan and on medium to low heat, saute onion,jalapeno for 5 minutes, add the garlic and saute for another 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the remaining ingredients along with the ancho, passilla and the 2 cups of soaking liquid.
  • Bring to a boil and remove from heat and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
  • Puree and store in a plastic container and refridgerate.
