How to make it

  • To kill your cooter chop off its head with a sharp knife or hatchet (quickly please)
  • Once it is dead, open it up down the sides of the shell.
  • Skin the legs out.
  • Cut the meat into chunks and wash it
  • Salt, Pepper then flour the meat (you may also add whatever seasonings to your flour for more flavor)
  • Fry the floured meat in deep grease (either in a deep pot or a deep-fat fryer)
  • When the meat is done it will float to the top.
