How to make it

  • 1. In a large deep pot, combine the ham, onion, butter, and minced garlic. Add the water, bring to a simmer over med heat for 30 min.
  • 2. Gradually add the collard greens, let each bunch wilt down before adding the next. Reduce the heat to low and allow the greens to simmer, covered for 1-1 1/2 hours. Add sea salt and pepper to taste. Serve while hot
  • This can be done in a crock-pot if you can set it at medium and low.

    Where it says cooking time I put 1122 it was suppose to be 1 - 1 1/2 hours
