How to make it

  • Put all ingredients into a pot with water
  • Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Strain your awesome broth. Use to add flavor to soups, in place of water when cooking rice or beans, or in other savory recipes that call for water or broth.

    pumpkin pie clove. :) And if you're making the stock to put in squash or pumpkin soup, add a couple of more cloves since those flavors work well together. If you know ahead of time the purpose of the stock, you can adjust seasonings accordingly!

    I love the idea of saving scraps for such a useful and simple recipe. Thanks for sharing! One questions: does the clove at the end mean a clove of garlic or the spice kind clove that goes in pumpkin pie?

    Thank-you for this recipe.

    It is true that we tend to throw a large amount of minerals and vitamins away,each and everyday.

    I eat a good share of rice,and this would be great as you suggested to use for it's liquid.
