How to make it

  • In a sauce pan melt the butter, add the almonds and coat them in the butter. Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375 F for 12 to 15 mins to roast them. Combine almond paste, sugar and egg whites in a bowl and work with a spoon until smooth. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Top each cookie with one roasted almond (optional maraschino cherries). Bake at 375 F about 12 mins, or until delicately browned. Cool slightly, then remove cookies to a cooling rack to finish cooling. ENJOY!
