How to make it

  • Cream butter with 1/3 cup dark brown sugar, stir in pecans and press over prepared pie crust. This forms the praline layer.
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 10 min; cool.
  • Scald evaporated milk with water in small pan.
  • Beat eggs in large bowl; stir in pumpkin, remaining sugars, spices and salt.
  • Beat in scalded mixture and pour over praline layer.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes until set but soft.
  • Cool and top with whipped cream.
