Grandma Nancys Pumpkin Praline Pie

- 1 - 10" pie crust; uncooked shopping list
- 3 Tbsp butter; softened shopping list
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup pecans; chopped shopping list
- 1 cup evaporated milk (we use Carnation brand) shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups canned or fresh cooked pumpkin shopping list
- 1/2 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves shopping list
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 pint whipping cream; whipped & refrigerated shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter with 1/3 cup dark brown sugar, stir in pecans and press over prepared pie crust. This forms the praline layer.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 10 min; cool.
- Scald evaporated milk with water in small pan.
- Beat eggs in large bowl; stir in pumpkin, remaining sugars, spices and salt.
- Beat in scalded mixture and pour over praline layer.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes until set but soft.
- Cool and top with whipped cream.
