Oat Bran Spicy Fried Chicken

- 1/2 chicken, chopped shopping list
- 2 cups vegetable shortening (or more) shopping list
- For marinade: shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 lemon shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tbsp paprika chili flakes shopping list
- To coat the chicken: shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 2 cups of oat bran shopping list
- A dash of pepper shopping list
- A dash of salt shopping list
How to make it
- Clean and dry the chicken. Remove the skin if you are health conscious
- Pour in the marinade (milk and lemon or buttermilk) See Photo
- to make buttermilk, we just need lemon and milk together so that’s what I did! I pour in the milk and then squeeze in the lemon juice.
- Let it marinade for several hours.
- Cover chicken with dry ingrdients (I do it twice) See Photo
- Fry until cook and you have a golden chicken. See Photo
- Enjoy.
- (keep warm in the oven to serve warm...) See Photo
- Note: if you use a deep-fryer, it will be easier and you don’t have to turn the chicken all the time to make sure it is completely cooked.
