Black Cherries in Wine

- 2 cups merlot shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 cinnamon sticks shopping list
- Peel and juice of 1 small lemon shopping list
- 2 tablespoons brandy shopping list
- 2 pounds pitted black cherries shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients except cherries and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Cool.
- Partically chop and macerate cherries for 1 hour in the cooled syrup, turning many times.
- Serve with ice cream or whipped cream
- You could also serve with pound cake.
