How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients except cherries and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Partically chop and macerate cherries for 1 hour in the cooled syrup, turning many times.
  • Serve with ice cream or whipped cream
  • You could also serve with pound cake.
