Ginger Terriyaki Glaze

- 1 Tbs cornstarch shopping list
- 1 tsp peanut oil shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic,finely chopped shopping list
- 5 Tbs soy sauce shopping list
- 4 Tbs ginger syrup shopping list
- 2 Tbs pineapple juice shopping list
How to make it
- Combine cornstarch,with 1 Tbs water;set aside. Heat oil in 1 qt. saucepan over med. heat. Add the garlic and cook,stirring,until soft,about 1 min. Add the soy sauce,ginger syrup,pineapple juice and 1/3 c water. Bring to boil,stir in reserves cornstarch mixture,and boil till syrupy,about 1 min
- To make ginger syrup:
- 2 c unpeeled,fresh ginger,roughly chopped
- 2 c sugar
- 6 c water
- Process ginger in processor or blender until finely chopped. Place in large stock pot. Add sugar and water to the pot and stir. Bring to a boil,then reduce to simmer over med-low heat and cook 1 hour until rich syrup is created. Strain syrup twice through cheesecloth or sieve into a ;arge jar or bottle. Refrigerate. Will keep 3 to 6 mos.
