How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375 then place oatmeal in a shallow ovenproof dish.
  • Bake until color turns brown and oatmeal smells nutty.
  • Remove from oven and pour whiskey over oatmeal then reduce oven to 325.
  • Place egg yolks in a bowl then stir in sugar until dissolved and add cream and oatmeal.
  • Divide mixture evenly among four ramekins then lace ramekins in a deep pan.
  • Add enough warm water to come halfway up sides of the dishes.
  • Place in the oven and bake 45 minutes then remove from oven and let cool.
  • Remove bowls from the pan and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate before serving.
  • To present dust puddings with confectioners' sugar then clean sides of bowls.
  • Place under hot broiler until puddings brown slightly.
  • Place on individual plates with berries on the side.
