Toasted Oatmeal and Whiskey Pudding

- 1 ounce oatmeal shopping list
- 1 tablespoon whiskey shopping list
- 5 egg yolks shopping list
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 pint cream shopping list
- 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar shopping list
- 8 ounces hulled strawberries, raspberries or other seasonal berries for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375 then place oatmeal in a shallow ovenproof dish.
- Bake until color turns brown and oatmeal smells nutty.
- Remove from oven and pour whiskey over oatmeal then reduce oven to 325.
- Place egg yolks in a bowl then stir in sugar until dissolved and add cream and oatmeal.
- Divide mixture evenly among four ramekins then lace ramekins in a deep pan.
- Add enough warm water to come halfway up sides of the dishes.
- Place in the oven and bake 45 minutes then remove from oven and let cool.
- Remove bowls from the pan and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate before serving.
- To present dust puddings with confectioners' sugar then clean sides of bowls.
- Place under hot broiler until puddings brown slightly.
- Place on individual plates with berries on the side.
