- After roasting chicken for dinner - served with mashed potatoes, gravy, buttered peas, salad and biscuits - immediately pull the chicken from the bones and place skin, carcass in large stock pot with quartered onion, chunked carrots and celery. Fill with cold water and season with celery leaves, salt, pepper, parsley. Simmer. shopping list
