Cherry Pie

- 250 g flour +1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 200 g semolina shopping list
- 3 tbs brown or white sugar shopping list
- 200 g butter shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- 600 g fresh pitted or frozen cherries shopping list
- 3 tbs amaretto liqueur shopping list
- 200 ml cherry juice shopping list
- 60 g sugar shopping list
- 3-4 tbs cornstarch shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl mix flour, semolina, sugar and pinch of salt.
- Melt butter and rub it into dough until crumbly.
- In a pan combine together amaretto, cherry juice, sugar, bring to a boil. Add cherries and simmer for 3 min. In a separate bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water and add to the cherry mixture. Continue stirring mixture over low heat until thickened. Cool.
- Place 1/2 or 3/4 part of the dough into the prepared pan. Put cherry filling over the dough. Then put the remaining dough and bake for 50-60 min or until set. You can cut into squares to make bars.
