How to make it

  • In a bowl mix flour, semolina, sugar and pinch of salt.
  • Melt butter and rub it into dough until crumbly.
  • In a pan combine together amaretto, cherry juice, sugar, bring to a boil. Add cherries and simmer for 3 min. In a separate bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water and add to the cherry mixture. Continue stirring mixture over low heat until thickened. Cool.
  • Place 1/2 or 3/4 part of the dough into the prepared pan. Put cherry filling over the dough. Then put the remaining dough and bake for 50-60 min or until set. You can cut into squares to make bars.
