Ingredients

  • One 12 oz bag of Large JETPUFF marshmallows shopping list
  • Crisco Shortening Tub ( I use a larger container, since I make it so often, but if you're using it on a smaller scale, go with the smallest tub you can find. ) shopping list
  • 1-2 teaspoons of PURE vanilla Extract (or any extract of your choice) shopping list
  • Glycerin for easier roll out shopping list
  • GEL colors of your choice shopping list
  • 2-4 pounds of sifted powered sugar shopping list
  • Cornstarch for dusting shopping list

How to make it

  • First, in a LARGE ,deep , microwavable mixing bowl, dump in all the marshmallows
  • Then put it in your microwave, and microwave it for 30 second increments mixing in between each 30 second increment until smooth and melted (make sure it doesn't puff up too much, other wise you'll have a mess)
  • It should be a liquid. Now would be an excellent time to stir in your colors, and extracts.
  • "Crisco up" your hands...and liberally.
  • This WILL be sticky. Take powered sugar and at 2-3 cups at the time add it in the bowl and mix slowly, until the mixture forms a dough. Alternatively try mixing it with your hands. Add more Crisco to hands as needed.
  • Once, you have the desired consistency, knead the dough for a final time a bit, and rub the whole thing with a little Crisco forming it into a ball as you go.
  • Wrap it in Plastic wrap, and then a large ziplock bag. (No ziplock bag? Then double or triple the Plastic wrap)
  • Let dough sit on your counter wrapped for 4 hours to a day so that colors, and flavors mature, and bloom.
  • After that...roll it out, liberally cornstarch your board, knead a teaspoon of glycerin into the fondant (or more as you need), and let your creativity run wild!
