How to make it

  • Combine all sofrito ingredients in large bowl. In batches,pulse in food processor until finely chopped. Process almost til smoth.(Can be made 3 days ahead and refrigerated or 3 months ahead and frozen)
  • Heat grill. Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper;place on small baking sheet. Brush both sides with 1/2 c of sofrito(reserve remaining for another use.)
  • Grill pork,covvered,over med. heat 8 to 10 mins or till pale oink in center.

    My gaming buddy who lives in Puerto Rico turned me on to Soffrito. Apparently there is hardly a meal that goes to the table in Puerto Rico that doesn't have soffrito in it. I know I'm keeping a jar but it is from the grocery. Thanks for sharing your soffrito recipe. This sounds good and I haven't used it this way yet. I bet Mr. SuchaFuss would like this.
