Taco Lasagna

- 2# ground beef shopping list
- 2 pkg taco seasoning mix shopping list
- 4 cloves pressed garlic shopping list
- ½ tsp cayenne shopping list
- 1½-cup water shopping list
- 1 T cornmeal shopping list
- 18 corn tortillas shopping list
- 1 jar (24 oz) salsa shopping list
- 1 cup sliced green onions shopping list
- 16 oz sour cream mixed with 1 T chili powder shopping list
- 3 cups shredded Monterrey Jack cheese shopping list
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375° F. Cook ground beef until no longer pink, drain well. Add taco seasoning, garlic, cayenne and water. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Set aside.
- Sprinkle cornmeal on bottom of 9x13 baker. Place 6 tortillas in pan, overlapping and extending up edges slightly.
- Layer in the following order:
- 1-cup salsa
- ½ of the meat mixture (about 2 cups)
- ½ cup green onions
- 1-cup sour cream
- 2-cups combined cheeses
- Repeat starting again with 6 tortillas, salsa, meat, green onions, sour cream, and 2 cups cheeses. Add 6 more tortillas and remaining salsa. Bake for 40 minutes. Add remaining cheese. Bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
